Water & Watersheds
I like MPR's Updraft blog which is written by Paul Huttner and his colleagues. The entries are interesting. reliable and almost always illustrated with maps, graphs, tables, photographs, etc.
Today, March 27, 2019 Huttner introduced his entry on Minnesota floods with a brief overview of Minnesota's watersheds. He notes that "Minnesota is an interesting state when it comes to watersheds. Minnesota sits on a high point in the center of the continent. That means water runs away from Minnesota in multiple directions."
Or, in Huttner's summary: "Minnesota is a big net exporter."
So if you'd like a refresher which includes two maps and a few comments see here. This short primer is followed directly by informed comments and information about flooding as of today's date.
