Oops! I missed yesterday's poem. Here it is with the data for that date, June 5.
Greetings from St. Paul on this 157th day of the year. 42.90 % of 2020 is in the past, there will be 15h 28m 38s of daylight with 16 days to go to Summer Solstice in the 20th week of the year. It is World Environment Day and National Donut Day. No donuts today but it is Applesauce Cake Day.
"They got me, I sometimes thought. I have devoted my life to fighting viruses and fially, they get their revenge. --Peter Piot, co-discoverer of the Ebola virus and COVID-19 survivor.
Today's poem is by William Carlos Williams.
The subject of the poem, Emily Dickinson Wellcome, was Williams' grandmother. A photograph is stored in the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library, Yale University. However, it may be seen only at Yale. I include the link.
