This Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) chose an image taken August 1st to remind viewers that as the Sun sets on August 30/31 there will be a Blue Moon, i.e., the 2nd full moon in a month.
The image shown here is spectacular and you may think that a mistake has been made. That it isn't the moon but the sun. Whether we will be cloud free or have such a bright view there is no way to know. I hope you will take a look, atmospheric conditions permitting.
The Farmer's Almanac has a generous variety of information about these moons in "Sturgeon Full Moon and Blue Moon: August 2023".
Gianno Tumino is a first-rate photographer, at home with the tools of the photographer's trade. There is a link to him.
Good sky watching and hunting to all of us.
