About the Center for Global Environmental Education
CGEE was founded in 1990 as part of Hamline University's Graduate
School of Education with an adventure-learning program (Will Steger's 1990
Trans-Antarctic Expedition) that reached 15 million K-12 students worldwide.
Under the direction of Tracy Fredin, since 1995 CGEE has remained an environmental education pioneer by applying best practices in pedagogy, multimedia technology, experiential learning, and behavior change within four complimentary program areas: (1) professional development for K-12 educators, (2) projects and resources for K-12 students, (3) production of multimedia learning programs, and (4) community outreach events and communications resources.
